In 2010 the rosewood entered the list of controlled by the Convention on International Trade in Endangered Species of Wild Fauna and Flora (CITES) species products and, thereafter, the export of oil began to be monitored and certified according to the international standards to ensure the continuation of the species. Now it is said that neighboring countries are cultivating this tree to rival a market world estimated at 40+ tons.
